Position Summary
The Applications Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and management of critical financial applications. This individual will serve as a working manager, actively engaging in the administration of these systems while ensuring governance and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role ensures that all banking and lending systems are reliable, secure, and meet the needs of the credit union’s members and staff. Additionally, the Applications Manager will act as a project lead, coordinating cross-functional efforts to deliver technology solutions on time and within scope. This position also involves managing the Applications department, providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to ensure departmental objectives align with the overall goals of the credit union.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and analysts to gather, document, and implement product requirements for banking and lending projects.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, management, and external vendors to ensure alignment on business strategies.
- Provide regular updates on enhancements, issues, and project statuses.
- Implement and manage security measures to safeguard sensitive financial data.
- Manage and administer user accounts, profiles, and permissions within banking and lending platforms, ensuring proper access controls and segregation of duties.
- Regularly review and update security policies to align with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Maintain and update policies and procedures for financial applications, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Conduct Disaster Recovery testing to critical banking applications and manage audit reports and logs.
- Monitor and manage nightly ISE Enterprise Scheduler automated jobs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate and perform after-hours/weekend patches and upgrades, minimizing disruptions to credit union operations.
- Develop and maintain documentation for core jobs, processes, configurations, and changes to ensure clear communication and transparency.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure alignment with credit union objectives and regulations.
- Address user issues and provide timely support to enhance overall user experience.
- Share knowledge with team members and actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
- Support the implementation of new credit union products and services, including testing and documentation.
- Stay informed about the latest system releases, updates, and industry best practices to ensure the credit union remains competitive.
- Conduct user training sessions to promote efficient utilization of technology.
- On-call as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in managing banking applications, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in financial services environments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial platforms, applications, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of system governance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
